Product information "Vixen AXJ GoTo Mount with Star Book Ten Controller"

Designed as a complement to the AXD2 equatorial mount, the AXJ mount offers outstanding durability and precision.
The AXJ mount can also be used on AXD-TR102 tripods with an adapter.
Periodic errors on mounts are usually measured and corrected by the user. Unlike the old StarBook controller, the STAR BOOK TEN controller saves these errors permanently. The periodic error of the mount is measured in the factory (total of 12 points per 30 degrees worm gear) and corrected before delivery. This is known as V-PEC and functions automatically as soon as you use the mount. It delivers an accuracy of +/- 4.0 arc seconds. You can increase the tracking accuracy further by saving your own recorded periodic errors.
Vixen uses a new Belt-drive system in the AXJ mount. The gear drive was replaced with a toothed belt drive.
This gives the mount a quicker reaction time and lower backlash. It also helps to minimize noise. The 6x20 polar finder scope is pre-installed.
This allows the user to configure the polar alignment (for both the northern and southern hemispheres).
The polar finder scope has a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic power-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels so that the user can configure the desired brightness.

SETTING ACCURACY OF LESS THAN 3 ARC MINUTES
The dark field illumination (red LED) turns on when the push button is pressed. The reticle also lights up in red so that the observer can recognize and align stars in the background of the reticle. The light turns off automatically after a few minutes to save battery power.
2 bearing sets (4 pieces) are used for the shaft of the RA axis. Thanks to the newly developed EQ design, the ZXJ mount has a higher load capacity of 22 kg.
As the motors, worm shaft and worm gear are located in the lower part of the mount, fewer counterweights are required than with conventional mounts.
The STAR BOOK TEN controller is a modern control system with a high-resolution colour monitor.
The STAR BOOK TEN system contains more than 272,000 celestial objects, including 260,000 stars from the SAO catalogue, 109 Messier objects, 7840 NGC objects and 5380 IC objects, as well the soon, moon and planets. Objects can be accessed by name, and information such as images and data can be defined separately.

Vixen Encoder for AXJ Mount

Make your AXJ mount more comfortable and precise with high precision encoders! The Vixen AXJ encoders allow you to manually move to the celestial objects via the monitor. Generally, computer-controlled mounts have an automatic "go-to" system where the position of the objects through a 2-star allighnment must be stored before the observation. Once you have done this, the mount is able to find the objects automatically. However, if you loosen the clamping levers on the mount while using the "go-to" system, the telescope loses information to identify the object positions and the "Go-to" becomes unusable. For this reason, the telescope could not be moved manually. However, with the AXJ encoder, this is now possible. You can "go-to" one object and manually adjust the next by releasing the clamp, without losing the positioning information on the next "go-to". On the high resolution monitor of the STARBOOK TEN control you can now adjust the objects comfortably by hand. The second big advantage is an enormously high tracking accuracy with a periodic error <0.5 arcseconds which allows long time exposures of faint celestial objects without an autoguiding system. This is a dream for any serious astrophotographer. The AXJ encoders are mounted inside the mount, and thus do not affect the dimensions of the AXJ mount. So there is no need to buy a larger storage case. Astrophotographers generally use two different focal lengths: Short focal lengths for overview photos and extensive deep-sky objects, and long focal lengths for objects which are further away. Our aspherical mirror optics offer the perfect solution for these scenarios. Vixen VMC200L Maksutov-Cassegrain mirror telescope - optical tube

Featuring an improved design and optical properties, this compact field corrected Maksutov-Cassegrain system is Vixen's answer to Schmidt Cassegrain and more conventional Maksutov Telescopes. Instead of a heavy corrector plate, the Meniscus corrector is located directly in front of the secondary mirror. As a result, the Field-Maksutov does not dew up easily, as most conventional SCT s and Maksutovs do, when exposed to humid air. Thanks to the VMC's open tube system, the optics cool down quickly, ensuring that the telescope is ready for use in no time - again offering advantages over traditional Schmidts and Maksutovs, which can take a long time to acclimatise and reach thermal equilibrium. The long focal length of the VMC allows you to make detailed observations of planets, distant galaxies, individual lunar craters and mountains and many other celestial objects. The mirror is manufactured using an advanced coating deposition technique, normally reserved for research-grade instruments - ensuring an extremely smooth and precisely-finished optical surface. This, combined with the secondary corrector delivers extremely pleasing visual and photographic performance, with a very flat field. Unlike the primary mirrors in many rival SCTs and Maksutovs, the VMC200L's primary is fixed and doesn't travel on a focuser baffle, adding to stability and as a result this telescope does not suffer from "mirror flop" or focus shift.The focuser is a conventional, smooth-running single speed rack and pinion design, which ensures stability, even at high loading. Vixen has developed a new generation of SX mounts for demanding observers and astrophotographers. The SXD2WL mount is simply operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. By controlling the mount with your smartphone using the free STAR BOOK Wireless app, you can easily use sky navigation functions such as automatic GoTo panning of celestial objects via your smartphone or tablet. By eliminating the power consumption of the conventional LCD (STAR BOOK TEN), the power consumption on the mount is reduced by up to 20%, thus enabling longer astronomical observation and astrophotography. When the desired celestial object is selected from a list, it is automatically panned into the telescope's field of view and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used on this mount without any problems. EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Twilight I telescope mount with tripod

The Twilight I is a light-to-medium-duty alt-azimuth mount and tripod designed to quickly and easily accept small to medium sized refractors, such as the AR102 + AR127s or ED102mm + ED127, and of course, the ED80mm. Lightweight, fast Newtonians will also match up nicely with the Explore Scientific Twilight I mount. As long as your telescope does not exceed 18 pounds and has a Vixen-Style Universal Dovetail bar for mounting the telescope to the mount head, you are good to go. The Twilight I alt-azimuth mount head is made of powder-coated aluminum and there are worm gears on both axes. The adjustable angle head can be tilted forward or back at a 45° angle to allow more clearance for your telescope so you can point it straight up for viewing at the zenith. The Allen hex wrench for doing the mount head adjustment can be safely stored at the integrated magnetic holder. Slow-motion control cables are attached on the vertical and horizontal axes, and are easy to turn during the night, even with gloves on, due to the over-sized knurled knobs that are attached to the end of each cable. They can be attached to either side of each axis to accommodate right or left-handed users, or different types of telescopes (e.g. refractors vs. Newtonian reflectors) for ease of adjustment. The stainless steel tripod that comes standard with the Twilight I mount has adjustable legs and a wide foot print of 42 inches, which makes the tripod more stable.
