Product information "EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC TELRAD Projection Finder Scope with base"
The TELRAD viewfinder is a projection finder that can be installed on any telescope and makes it child's play to align the telescope with the starry sky.

The TELRAD viewfinder is a practical alternative to classic optical viewfinders and illuminated red dot viewfinders. You can see the complete starry sky without magnification, and not just a small section as with a normal optical viewfinder. Against this background of the starry sky, three red luminous concentric rings are projected, with apparent diameters of 4 degrees, 2° and 0.5° in the sky. Move the telescope so that the object you are looking for is in the inner ring, and the telescope points in the right direction. Because the object you are looking for is inside the ring, it will not be irradiated like a normal illuminated red dot finder.

The base of the TELRAD viewfinder is self-adhesive and can be mounted on all telescopic tubes from about 10cm diameter. The length of the base is about 18cm. This base remains on the telescopic tube, the TELRAD viewfinder itself can be removed or attached at any time by means of the attached quick coupling. The TELRAD is powered by two normal AA batteries (not included).

There are star atlases, like the "Deep Sky Travel Atlas" from Oculum-Verlag, and planetarium programs for the PC, like the program "Stellarium", where the three rings of the TELRAD are already drawn or can be displayed around the interesting celestial objects. This makes finding these celestial objects a real walk.

BRESSER Messier 8'' Dobsonian
NEW - now including a high-quality aperture Solar-filter for safe observation of sunspots, eclipses and planet transits. Great telescope for night and solar observation. The BRESSER Messier 8'' dobsonian is simply a breakthrough. Despite of its low price this telesccope offers a versatility and quality rivaling a lot more expensive telecopes. The optical diameter of 203mm (8'') does not restrict your observations on solar system objects like the moon or the planets - you can reach farther into the sky and explore globular and open clusters, nebulae and galaxies. With that telescope those objects are beginning to show structures: globular clusters are no longer only fuzzy blobs, but are resolved into masses of individual stars. Nebulae, that can only be barely detected in smaller scopes, reveal structures within. The telescope is setting a new standard in versatility: the excellent Hexafoc focuser boosts a free diameter of 65mm (2,5'') so that you do not have vignetting in big widefield eyepieces that is caused by smaller focuser barrels. The big altitude wheels handle those big, heavy eyepieces without problems - and when you intend to load even more (like a binocular viewer with two eyepieces) then you can move the tube in its tube rings and achieve balance within seconds. The excellent rigidity of the focuser makes focusing a snap - even for astrophotography. This is another virtue of this highly versatile telescope system: you can remove the altitude wheels from the tube rings, attach a dovetail and use the optical tube on a equatorial mount for astrophotography - in minutes. The focuser is handling even heavy cameras tilt and shifting-free. You are extremely demanding in your image sharpness? No problem - with the optional 10:1 gear reduction sharp images are easy. If you consider, that the focuser is that part of the telescope that is used most often, you will recognize the quantum leap this Hexafoc represents in a telescope of this price range. With the included standard accessories (6x30 finder and 25mm SPL-eyepiece) the telescope is ready for observing. If you need to transport or store the telescope as compact as possible you will like this: the rocker box of the 8'' BRESSER Messier assembles and disassembles extremely easy and fast due to the use of metal standard furniture fasteners. So you can transform the bulky rocker box into a handy flat package of boards. This telescope is setting a new standard in usability, versatility and performance in its price class. Please note: Reflector telescopes with optical design Newton are very good for astronomical observing at the starry night sky. But these telescopes are not well usable for observing landscape and nature during daylight. Therefore we suggest BRESSER refractor (lens) telescopes for landscape and nature observing. BRESSER Messier 10" Dobson
NEW - now including a high-quality lens solar filter for the safe observation of sunspots, eclipses and planetary transits. A high quality telescope for night and solar observation. The BRESSER Messier 10 "Dobsonian is something very special. Despite the low price, it offers a variety of functions and quality that are sometimes unavailable in considerably more expensive telescopes. With its 254 mm diameter optics, this telescope is not limited to solar system observation of the Moon and brighter planets - you can also observe far out into the universe and see globular clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Details become visible in most deep-sky objects: globular clusters are broken down into individual stars and nebulae, which are only hinted at in smaller scopes, show considerable structure. This Dobsonian is unsurpassed in versatility within its price range: the excellent, large Hexafoc focuser has an opening of 65 mm - so even with large wide-field eyepieces, there is no noticeable vignetting from the eyepiece extension tube. The large elevation wheels also hold the telescope level with just the right amount of "sticktion", even when heavier eyepieces are used. And when a lot of heavier accessories are attached, such as the Bresser Binoviewer attachment, then the entire telescope tube can be moved within the tube rings - and everything is balanced again in a flash. The unsurpassed rigidity of the focuser makes it easy to focus - photography with this OTA is no problem either as the supplied extension tube for the focuser can be removed and a camera easily bought to a prime focus position. This is another strength of this universal telescope: if you want to take photos, you can simply unscrew the elevation wheels from the tube and place it on an equatorial mount with a standard dovetail rail - other rival Dobsonians do not offer this level of flexibility or pathway to more expansive astrophotography use. An optional dual speed 10:1 gear reduction for the focuser is available for those who need extra fine control of focus. If you consider that the focuser is the telescope part that is used most often, the supply of the Hexafoc on this telescope is a quantum leap for this price range. With the initial equipment you can observe immediately - a 6x30 viewfinder and a 25mm SPL eyepiece are included within the package.  If you want to transport the device as compactly as possible, it is easy with the new 10 "BRESSER Messier - the rocker box can be dismantled in a few simple steps, as the parts are assembled with metal quick-release connectors. A bulky rocker box quickly becomes a handy flat package of boards within a few minutes. This is a telescope whose versatility, performance and ease of use set new standards in this price range. Please note that while Newtonian type reflecting telescopes are very good for astronomical observations in the night sky, they not well-suited for observing nature and landscapes during the day. We therefore recommend BRESSER refracting or Cassegrain designs of telescopes for additional nature and landscape observations.PROPERTIESType: mirror telescopeMirror diameter: 254mm / focal length: 1270mm / F / 5Maximum useful magnification: 508 timesTelescope for night and solar observation2.5" HEXAFOC focuserMain mirror made of special glass, with low thermal expansionHassle-free focusing, even with heavy accessoriesEasy to move tubeDismountable rocker boxTube mounting on altitude bikes using clampsUse of the optics on other mounts as wellAdjustment and construction screws of different sizesBase diameter 54cmWhat's IncludedTube with Newtonian opticsFull aperture Solar filter6x30 viewfinder25mm Super Plössl eyepiece (Ø 31.7 mm / 1.25 ")1 extension tube 37.5mm for 2.5 " Hexafoc1 eyepiece adapter 1.25" to 2"/31.7 to 50.8 mm2 Tube Rings2 Altitude support wheelsRocker box with 2 base plates and mounting material (disassembled for self-assembly)Shipping dimensions Box1: 134x44x44cm - 19.0kgShipping dimensions Box2: 61x61x24cm - 17.0kg

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Ultra Light Dobsonian 254mm GENERATION II
Ultra Light Dobsonian 254mm GENERATION II - with completely redesigned and improved construction. No telescope type has influenced amateur astronomy as radically as the dobsonian telescope. Before the introduction of this telescope type by John Dobson the vast majority of amateur telescopes were small inadequate refractors on shaky mounts - just good enough to show the polar regions on mars or the rings of Saturn. Bigger telescopes, like the Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, were restricted to the relatively small group of amateurs that could afford them. The brilliant combination of simple - but effective - mechanics and the largest aperture available led to a worldwide triumph of this concept. No other telescope type offers you so much light for your money as a good dobson. We have taken the motto "held together by gravity and driven by yoghurt power" and offer a modern version of the classic - designed by amateur astronomers for amateur astronomers. Despite its large aperture the telescope can be transported easily even in small cars and is assembled within minutes without tools. The construction was optimized for maximum rigidity with a minimum of mass. The combination of big altitude wheels and a optimized aluminium-sandwich construction allows for small movements even at high magnifications. The focus position is already positioned to accept our coma-corrector. The ideal workhorse for the deep-sky enthusiast. A telescope with 254mm aperture gathers more than 1300-times more light than the naked eye. Details on planetary surfaces stand out even to unexperienced observers, and countless deep-sky objects show details. EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Ultra Light 20'' Dobson 500mm f/3.6 GENERATION II
Ultra Light Dobsonian 500mm GENERATION II - telescope mechanics handcrafted in HUNGARY and GERMANY No telescope type has influenced amateur astronomy as radically as the dobsonian telescope. The construction was optimized for maximum rigidity with a minimum of mass. The combination of big altitude wheels and a optimized aluminium-sandwich construction allows for small movements even at high magnifications. The focus position is already positioned to accept our coma-corrector (part No. 0510330) . The ideal workhorse for the deep-sky enthusiast. A telescope with 500mm aperture gathers more than 5100-times more light than the naked eye. Details on planetary surfaces stand out even to unexperienced observers, and countless deep-sky objects show details and some color. Bright globular clusters are resolved down to the core and the view of the lunar terminator will provide a unforgettable experience. The fast 20’’ f3.6 main mirror as well as the large 120mm secondary mirror are made of high quality quartz material, so the cooling time is reduced to a minimum and the Dobson is quickly ready for use. Every main mirror is delivered with an individual optical test certificate, which guarantees the highest capacity. A laser engraved center mark of the main mirror allows easy adjustment. The optical surface has a high-quality aluminum silvering with 94% reflectivity and an extremely resistant quartz protection layer. The mirror overcomes frequently occurring dew fogging and cleanups without any damages and guarantees a long service life. A complete redesign of this Dobson was necessary to ensure the significantly increased requirements to stiffness and load bearing capacity of the optical components. All connections of the tube structure were made in the TIG welding process and no rivets and screws were used. This has made it possible for us to produce this 20’’ light weight Dobson so unbelievably stiff in spite of the low weight - a noticeably good quality which is searching for its match. The production of almost all mechanical components is carried out by our partners in Hungary and the final assembly of the optics and subsequent quality control takes place in Rhede, Germany. The equipment details of the smaller Dobson models, which have been popular for years, have been taken over and even extended considerably. First of all, of course, the very good decomposability and transportability should be mentioned. Set-up and dismantling can be carried out without tools. The main and secondary mirrors are adjustable during the observation and only two adjusting screws have to be moved. Thanks to the use of precision ball-heads in the main mirror cell and a precision hinge for secondary mirror suppport, the adjustment is absolutely easy and guarantees excellent stability. All connecting parts of the tube trusses now consist of CNC machined aluminum and are attached by stainless steel dowel screws. The secondary mirror can now also be adjusted by the adjusting screws in the direction of the optical axis. The tried and tested 2.5’’ HEXAFOC focuser with 1:10 fine adjustment has been used for years - this allows vignetting-free observation despite the fast aperture ratio. A second 40° displaced installed mounting plate with a viewfinder shoe allows the rotation of the tube top in combination with a favorable position of the viewfinder tube or the mounting of an additional TELRAD viewfinder. The 6 supporting feet underneath the rockerbox offer a perfect stability and guarantee a smooth tracking in azimuth. Four smaller fans are installed in the side of the mirror box as well as a large fan is installed under the main mirror. This allows an even quicker adaptation to the ambient temperature and reduces the tube seeing (boundary layer removal). The lateral altitude wheels can now be stowed comfortably in the foam layers of the mirror box. Last but not least another gimmick: The optical tube and the mirror cell are designed to use also on heavy equatorial mounts. Explore Scientific ReflexSight LED Finder
A new take on a classic design, superior to the usual red dot finder - which will fit many telescopes and larger binoculars.Explore Scientific ReflexSight™ LED projection viewfinder, uses proven functionality with versatility, while having enhanced performance features.Looking through this viewfinder shows multiple deep red target circles projected against the night sky.  Both eyes can be used for quick and easy star hopping, in order to target objects in your telescope. The big advantage is that you can see the entire night sky without magnification and not just a small section of the sky, as you would through a magnified finderscope.  This makes Goto aligning quick and easy and speeds up acquisition of targets.New "Multi-Dot" target circle pattern (in standard circle diameters of 4.0 degrees, 2.0 degrees and 0.5 degrees), prevents blocking of stars within the field of view.  Using the widths of the projected circles as reference points allows those users with non-goto telescopes to easily work out the location of non-visible targets, with reference to more easily visible stars.  The projection screen size is a generous 55 x 35 mm.Multiple mounting options. The Explore Scientific ReflexSight™ LED projection viewfinder's base fits standard "Vixen-style dovetail" finder bases, allowing the user to attach this finder to a wife array of commercially-available telescopes, without modifying the telescope itself. A ¼ inch x 20G threaded adapter (photo tripod thread) is built into the finder base, allowing the finder to be attached to a variety of telescopes, via piggyback camera adapters with a photo tripod threaded hole.Functional design and intuitive use: the smooth housing, with no sharp corners, prevents snagging. Easily accessible battery compartment, taking 2x standard AAA alkaline batteries (not included), which power the frugal LED illuminator. The low power consumption of the LED lighting ensures a long operating time. Large, continuously adjustable brightness control with knurled knob head can be easily operated with gloves. Click the rotary switch to turn off completely. Rear-facing, tool-free three-point parallax knurled collimation knobs, again, easy to operate even with gloved hands, ensure you are well locked-on to the main optical axis of your telescope. The projection screen is coated, to minimise annoying reflections and allow you to concentrate on the finder's target and the night sky behind it.  Comes complete with screen and optics cover. The extremely compact design allows mounting even on small, lightweight telescopes - truly a finder for all!FEATURESReflexSight LED projection finder with deep red target circles Standard circle diameters 4.0 degrees, 2.0 degrees and 0.5 degreesProjection screen size: 55 x 35 mmFits standard Vixen-style dovetail finder shoes There is also a ¼ inch x 20G female photo tripod thread in the base Can be mounted via piggyback camera adapters etc. Operates on standard AAA batteries (not included) Smooth housing with no sharp corners, prevents snagging Comes complete with optics and screen cover Compact design and easily accessible battery compartment Large, continuously adjustable brightness control with knurled knob Click switch to turn off completely Tool-free three-point collimation parallax adjustment with easily accessible knurled knobs Can also be mounted on small and light telescopes WHAT'S INCLUDEDReflexSight LED projection finder

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 10x60 Finder and Guider Scope with Helical Focuser, 1.25inch and T2 connection
Universal 60mm viewfinder and guide telescope with a focal length of 250mmExcellent 10x60 viewfinder telescope with removable eyepiece unit and crosshairs with adjustable red illumination. The larger aperture and focal length, provide an even brighter field of view and more accurate tracking due to the higher resolution. The precise helical focuser and the 1.25 inch /31.7mm plug-in connection, as well as the T2 camera connection thread (M42x0.75mm), allow the autoguiding required for long time exposure to obtain a point-shaped star image. It can also be used as a mini travel telescope.High quality 10x60 viewfinder telescope with adjustable crosshair illuminationImage sharpness and viewing characteristics lift this viewfinder well above the level of the usual 10x60 viewfinder scopes. The visible image is bright and crisply sharp. Furthermore, this viewfinder has a very large field of view (FOV) of 6.0 degrees. This makes finding and adjusting objects much easier. The existing scale markings (pitch=0.85 degree) on the crosshair are a good reference for estimating distances, and the open centre markings also make it easier to centre objects precisely. All lens surfaces are protected against weathering by multi-coating and guarantee a bright viewfinder image due to the high light transmission values. The adjustable red LED illumination unit is powered by two LR41 coin batteries. The main lens and the crosshairs can be focused independently of each other, giving you perfect focus for your eyes.Compact tracking unit for autoguidingOne of the main applications for this telescope is the so-called autoguiding. Here the usually larger photo-taking optics are actively corrected by a smaller guiding telescope with a second tracking camera. This means that the mechanical fluctuations in the tracking accuracy, which are present in all astronomical telescope mounts, are measured by the tracking camera and compensated accordingly. This is necessary in order to obtain a point-shaped star image on the astrophotos during long time exposures and to avoid unwanted star trails. For this purpose, the guiding telescope is inserted into the existing viewfinder shoe of the photo-taking optics and aligned parallel. If the existing viewfinder shoe is not compatible, a suitable viewfinder shoe is also included. With the 1.25 inch / 31,7mm plug connection at the rear end or via T2 thread connection (M42x0,75mm), a tracking camera can be mounted afterwards. This is held securely by a brass ring clamp and 3 clamping screws. Please note the required back focus for your tracking camera. The focal plane (backfocus) is approx. 22mm behind the T2 thread. The sensitive focusing on the guiding star is done by a large knurled wheel of the mechanically precise manufactured helical focuser. For easy reproduction of the point of focus, this has a white millimetre scale from 0 to 28mm, which is attached by laser engraving. After the tracking camera has been connected directly or via computer to the telescope mount and the necessary basic settings have been made, the first astrophotos with long time exposure can be taken.Use as mini travel telescopeThis viewfinder and guide telescope can also be used quite simply as a mini travel telescope. With the optional eyepieces, a magnification of 9x to 50x can be achieved. Nearly all eyepieces with a focal length of 5 to 26mm and 1.25 inch/31.7mm plug connection are suitable. Especially recommended are the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC eyepieces of the 52 degree (Art. 02195xx) and 62 degree (02196xx) LER series. Note: Only straight view use is possible.Metal viewfinder holder and viewfinder shoeThe mount of this viewfinder and guide telescope is completely made of aluminium and is a stable base. The viewfinder mount is suitable for many common types of telescopes, such as EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, BRESSER MESSIER etc. If the existing viewfinder shoe is not compatible, a matching viewfinder shoe is also included. This can be attached to the telescopic tube by means of four M5 screws. The bore distances of the viewfinder shoe are 31.7mm on the longitudinal and transverse axis. The six large adjustment screws with non-slip knurling make it easy to align the viewfinder, even with clammy fingers. All adjusting and clamping screws have plastic tips that effectively prevent the viewfinder housing and viewfinder mount from being scratched.FEATURESExcellent 10x60 viewfinder and guiding telescopeCan also be used as mini travel telescopePerfect image sharpness and good viewing comfortFMC Multi-coated lens surfacesLens focal length: 250mmMax. possible camera weight: 550gRemovable eyepiece/cross hair unitCamera connection via 1.25 inch / 31.7mm plug connection or T2 threadT2 thread: M42 x 0,75mmPrecise helical focuser for focusing the visible imageFocuser travel range: 28mmClose focus distance: 3 mLaser engraved millimetre scale from 0 to 28mm on the focuserFocal plane (backfocus) is approx. 22mm behind the T2 threadSeparate focusing of the crosshair at the eyepieceVery large field of view FOV of 6.0 degreesWith adjustable red cross-hair iillumination Scale markings crosshair with 0,85 degree graduationPower supply of illumination unit: coin battery type LR41 (2pcs)Brass ring clamp and 3 clamping screws on the 1.25 inch plug connectionWith optional eyepieces magnifications from 9x to 50x can be achievedSuitable are almost all eyepieces with 1.25 inch/31,7mm shaftMounting of the viewfinder telescope is completely made of aluminiumViewfinder mount with 6 large adjustment screws with knurled head for easy gripFinder shoe suitable for EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, BRESSER MESSIER etc.Additionally a suitable viewfinder shoe is includedBore distances of the viewfinder shoe are 31.7mm on the longitudinal and transverse axisAdjusting and clamping screws have plastic tipsWHAT'S INCLUDED10x60 viewfinder/guiding telescopeEyepiece unit with crosshairCrosshair illumination unit incl. batteriesViewfinder holder with viewfinder shoeInstruction manual

Vixen finder scope 7x50 with crosshairs and illumination
Thanks to the large aperture of 50 mm, the Vixen 7x50 finder scope immediately reveals many objects that are not visible in smaller viewfinders. This makes it easy to adjust the telescope to the target object. The red illumination of the finder scope can be dimmed to different levels. The eyepiece is detachable (31.7 mm diameter) so that a CMOS camera with 31.7 mm diameter (available separately) can be attached and used as an autoguider. The eyepiece unit with crosshairs is also removable in order to use 31.7 mm diameter eyepieces (sold separately) with different focal lengths. This allows the finder scope to be operated with various magnifications. The lens is designed to be compatible with CMOS cameras. The distance between the bottom of the 31.7 mm sleeve on the camera side and the sensor surface should be approximately 17 mm. However, the focus position may vary depending on the camera, so you should adjust the guiding camera for focus before use. The focus of the optics is adjusted by rotating the lens. First, the black lock ring on the main optics must be loosened. BRESSER LER Zoom Eyepiece 8-24mm 1.25''
One eyepiece for every occasion The BRESSER zoom eyepiece covers the large focal length range from 8 to 24 mm. These are also the focal lengths most frequently used with most telescopes. Especially for instant observations, where you don't want to pack a whole suitcase full of eyepieces, the zoom eyepiece is a good choice. Always the ideal magnification on hand A quick turn and the ideal magnification for you is set. The adjustment is stepless from 8 to 24 mm focal length. This eliminates the need to always change eyepieces. Comfortable viewing The BRESSER zoom eyepiece offers a large comfortable eye relief of 20 mm to the eyepiece lens (LER = long eye relief). This means comfortable viewing even during longer observation, an important criterion especially for people with glasses. The rubber eyecup can also be individually adjusted by a twist and turn movement. Apparent field of view is 40 up to 56 degrees which offers a good overview. Advanced optical design To achieve the best possible image over the entire focal length range, a sophisticated optical design with 8 lenses in 5 groups is used. The full multi-coating on all lens surfaces also guarantees maximum light transmission. To effectively suppress unwanted reflections, all lenses are carefully blackened at the edges. Thus, the image produced offers the maximum possible contrast and image brightness. Compact and solid design The BRESSER zoom eyepiece is made entirely of black anodised aluminium. It has an extremely solid and high-quality material appearance and is long-lived even with extensive use. The precise zoom mechanism can be operated safely through the ribbed metal adjustment ring. A white laser engraving with focal length and pointer arrow indicates the currently set focal length even in low light.
