Due to streetlamps and other artificial lighting the sky in urban areas is no longer properly black. As a result, the contrast and thus the perception of deep-sky objects also suffer. However, depending on the type of celestial object, it is possible to filter out some of the interfering light, making it easier to photograph the objects.The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC H-Alpha filter uses the characteristic of the so-called emission nebulae. These objects glow in certain colors, the so-called emission lines. The emission lines are associated with certain chemical elements - in this case the red glowing hydrogen. This filter blocks all other colors (and therefore almost all artificial light) and lets only the emission lines of hydrogen through. Especially the interfering light of mercury and sodium vapor lamps is effectively blocked. Universally usable variable polarizing filter with a  2" filter thread.This variable polarizing filter allows for a continuous adjustment of the image brightness. This is very helpful to level strong differences in contrast of different observation objects individually. Particularly for lunar and planetary observations but also for solar observations this filter prevents an outshining of details.Solar observations ONLY together with an adequate solar filter !!! Particularly when a Herschel wedge is used and with large objective lens apertures the use of the variable polarizing filter can reduce the brightness of the observation object to a confortable level. Details become visible in most deep-sky objects: globular clusters are broken down into individual stars and nebulae, which are only hinted at in smaller scopes, show considerable structure. This Dobsonian is unsurpassed in versatility within its price range: the excellent, large Hexafoc focuser has an opening of 65 mm - so even with large wide-field eyepieces, there is no noticeable vignetting from the eyepiece extension tube.
