Product information "AXD2 Goto Mount with AX103S Apochromat"
AXD2 GoTo mount with AX103S telescope set
The AXD2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN controller and the PFL polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars.
This telescope set has everything that you need for hobby astronomy.
It includes a telescope, a mount with automatic tracking and a sturdy tripod.
Featuring the STARBOOK TEN control system, the telescope locates celestial objects automatically so that you don't need to search for them manually.
Even if you're not an expert, you can still give your friends
an exciting tour through the night sky!
  • The AXD2 mount in detail:
  • Robust construction and lightweight housing with 30 kg load capacity (photographic)
The A7075 superalloy, the strongest aluminium alloy, is used for the R.A. and DEC axes. The stability of the A7075 superalloy is stronger than titanium, which is known for its strength as a lightweight material. Its thickness is 38% less than titanium. Using the A7075 superalloy for the axes ensures that the AXD mount is both lightweight and stable.
  • 21 bearings
The rotating parts of the AXD mount have a total of 21 bearings. These ensure uniform motion in order to swivel the telescope and track objects.
  • Stepper motors
Vixen uses precise stepper motors for the mount in order to ensure optimal performance. The motors are controlled via a micro-step motion control system, which eliminates the disadvantage of stepper motors with large steps. The system generates 400 impulses per second at a high speed. This results in very quiet scanning with no vibrations. The stepper motors on the AXD mount have sufficient torques. This is most significant when working at high magnifications and photographing with a CCD camera with small pixel sizes.
  • Worm gears
The sizes of the worm gears were increased in the latest Atlux version. The AXD mount has 270 teeth in the R.A. axis and 216 teeth in the DC axis. Both axes are 50 mm in diameter. This ensures that the mount operates with precision and stability.
  • Low backlash
The Vixen micro-step motion control system ensures that the stepper motors run uniformly at low and high speeds. This eliminates the need for reduction gears in the motor and therefore reduces the backlash in the gears.
  • Elegant design
The flat sides of the mount were designed based on previous generations of the New Atlux range. The white and silver housing provides a modern and elegant exterior with high functionality.
The AXD is the flagship model in the Vixen mount range.
  • Original motor layout
The solid R.A. and DEC motor units are arranged in the lower part of the mount. This means that they automatically act as a counterweight. As a result, you require far fewer weights on the counterweight bar. On small devices, no counterweight is required. The counterweight bar can be slid fully into the housing.
  • Polar finder scope
The AXD mount is equipped with a 6x20 polar finder as standard. The polar finder features an integrated scale, which provides a quick and easy way to polar align the telescope in the northern hemisphere.
For observations in southern latitudes, the polar finder features an image of the Octans constellation, which can be aligned with the night sky.
  • VPEC periodic error correction
Periodic errors on mounts are usually measured and corrected by the user. Unlike the old StarBook controller, the STAR BOOK TEN controller saves these errors permanently. The periodic error of the mount is measured in the factory and corrected before delivery. This is known as VPEC and functions automatically as soon as you use the mount.
It delivers an accuracy of +/- 2.8 arc seconds. You can increase the tracking accuracy further by saving your own recorded periodic errors.

  • The AX 103S in detail:

The AX103S is a top-of-the-range ED apochromat in the refractor series.
It features a triplet ED lens and a rear-mounted field flattener lens.
The f8.0 refractor contains a central ED lens in the objective and reduces chromatic aberration to an absolute minimum.
An optional focal reducer can reduce the aperture ratio to 1:5.6 in order to provide quicker results for astrophotographers.
The built-in field flattener lens provides a sharp image across the entire field of view - an essential requirements in astrophotography.
The 60 mm ring on the focuser allows you to attach a 2'' eyepiece and a camera adapter.
The AX103S is specially designed for photography, but also offers stunning visual performance, especially for observing the moon and the planets.
This telescope is guaranteed to provide a lifetime of outstanding performance!

Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor for Canon EOS Cameras
Vixen 60DX Focal adaptor for Canon EOS Cameras This Vixen 60DX is a photographic adaptor for Canon EOS cameras, for use with telescopes with a 60 mm focuser drawtube connection thread. A redesign by Vixen uses new tougher materials for a more solid connection and also offers an accurate, well-machined camera rotator ring, in order to help frame your images perfectly. Camera-Adaptor for Canon EOS with 60mm Focuser connection thread Large inner diameter for full-format cameras, helping to minimise vignetting 6 locking 60° spaced bolts to hold the camera’s rotation in position Dimensions: 81mm x 30 mm / weight: 190g The option of using 6 long or 6 short fixing screws for the rotator The Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor connects your Canon EOS DSLR Camera to a telescope with an appropriate 60 mm Focuser Drawtube Thread. Thanks to the use of new materials and an improved design Vixen was able to considerably uprate both precision and durability, when compared to conventional rotational camera adaptors. Two sets of rotational locking bolts (Long and Short) are supplied. The longer ones are knurled and easy to turn by hand. The shorter options help to prevent marring of the camera casing, when using certain designs of camera and are also much less easy to turn by hand, increasing security if you need the camera locked in a particular rotational position for longer periods. The large inner dimension of this adaptor prevents vignetting at the edges of the image when using full frame DSLR cameras. Canon EOS-Bayonet fastener made of hardwearing brass, for years of hassle-free use. Increased material quality over conventional adapters provides more stability in use. 6 fixing bolts hold the camera in rotational position for increased sturdiness (standard rotators often only use 4, or less). FEATURES Screw tips with Delrin-tips prevent tilting of the camera and subsequent image distortion. Large inner diameter prevents vignetting. Inner blackening suppresses scattered light. Compatible with 60 mm accessories, when the camera adaptor is taken off. Two rotational bolt sets (Long and Short) are supplied. SCOPE OF DELIVERY 60DA Focal adaptor 6 long and 6 short fixing screws

Vixen SG-L02 Headlamp red-light white-light
The perfect LED head torch for nighttime observations! Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations. In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light. With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light. Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness. The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem. However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility. They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark. The LEDs do not emit light in the sensitive range of 555 nm. The brightness of the white light can be adjusted between 3 and 42 lumen, while the red light can be adjusted between 0.28 and 7.62 lumen. BRESSER Space Explorer MC 90/1250 Automatic-Telescope
Who hasn't dreamed of a trip to the stars? The BRESSER Space Explorer MC 90/1250 automatic telescope will take you on an exciting journey into space. The telescope is easy to use, even for beginners - after aligning with one, two or three stars, you can choose an object from the 270,000 pre-installed celestial objects. Whether you want to observe a fascinating gas planet or a bright deep-sky object, the telescope will automatically move to your desired target. Thanks to the built-in motors in both axes of the azimuthal mount, the target object is automatically tracked so that you can sit back and enjoy the night sky. Explore the night sky with the Maksutov telescope Featuring a long focal length of 1250 mm, this telescope is ideal for making exciting discoveries in the solar system and beyond. Take a close look at the gas clouds on Jupiter, or watch the rings of Saturn through the telescope for the first time with your own eyes. Thanks to the 90 mm aperture, the telescope collects about 165 times more light than the human eye. However, it's not just the planets that look stunning through the high-quality optics. It's also worth venturing further afield into space: marvel at the sight of the Orion Nebula, 1,344 light years from Earth, or the famous Ring Nebula M57 in the constellation Lyra. The two included eyepieces with 25 mm and 12.5 mm focal lengths will show you these objects and many others at 50 or 100 times magnification. And because the best observation spots are usually not found in your immediate vicinity, the telescope features a compact Cassegrain design for easy transport. If there is a stable table at your observation site, you can even leave the tripod at home. Everything you need for exploring the night sky The telescope also allows you to capture images of the night sky. Simply attach the smartphone holder to the eyepiece, and take snapshots of planets, open star clusters and other night sky objects. The telescope is also ideal for observing and taking photos of the moon. In order to comfortably watch Earth's natural satellite through your Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, it is best to use the included moon filter. The moon filter darkens the image slightly and increases the contrast to provide a more comfortable view. Perfect for exploring fascinating moon craters, lunar seas and shadows in the twilight zone! The telescope also comes with a star chart to help you navigate the night sky with its mythically named constellations. The SXP2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN controller and the PFL-II polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars. The VC200L was designed for photography and renders a sharp and high-contrast image to the edges of the camera chip. It produces stunningly sharp images of the galaxies and nebula. The telescope set also offers outstanding visual performance and produces sharp images without chromatic aberration. It also produces impressive images of the moon's craters and Saturn's ring system. The mount can be operated fully automatically and finds celestial objects automatically. The SXP 2 mount in detailStrong mount housingCompared with previous models, the new SXP2 mount features larger bearings in order to increase the accuracy and load capacity. The mounting housing is made from a stronger material than the previous SX mounts. The equatorial head is clamped into a fork in order to increase the stability of the polar alignment wedge.Precise tracking with P-PEC functionThe SXP2 mount comes with the modern STARBOOK TEN control system. This includes a P-PEC function for precise tracking. PEC stands for ''Periodic Error Corrections'' and corrects errors in the mechanics which lead to periodic errors in the gear systems. The P-PEC function, which is based on the PEC function, is designed for the SXP2 equatorial mount. The P-PEC function saves the records of corrections, even after the power supply to the mount has been switched off. It is not necessary to re-enter the data each time, which enables a quicker setup and more precise tracking. The belt drive system minimizes backlash and noiseConventional motor-driven systems on equatorial mounts use gear wheels, which are driven by the motor. However, this design generates backlash under the gear wheels, which can lead to inaccuracies. To avoid these errors, the drive was converted to a belt drive system. This drastically reduces the backlash of the gear unit, as well as the noise generated by the drive system. It also ensures a quicker reaction when corrections are required.16 bearingsThe mechanical parts contain a total of 16 bearings. The SXP2 mount uses a set of tapered roller bearings for the RA axis in order to provide additional stability for more precise tracking.Stable polar alignment wedgeThe SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavy AXJ mount. This new construction enables a quick and stable configuration of the latitude setting.Simple and precise polar alignment via reference starThe 6x20 polar finder scope is pre-installed. This allows the user to configure the polar alignment (for both the northern and southern hemispheres). The polar finder scope has a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic power-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels so that the user can configure the desired brightness. The polar finder scope can be configured directly via three reference stars and can reach an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes.Variable mount headThe mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and features 8 threaded holes for M8 screws spaced at 45 degrees. An optional accessory tray can be attached to the mount head directly or in combination with an optional mounting wedge for dovetail plates. The threaded holes on the mounting head can also be used to mount rails from other manufacturers. Modern STAR BOOK TEN controller with high-resolution colour display and built-in star chartThe STAR BOOK TEN controller is a modern control system with a high-resolution colour monitor. The STAR BOOK TEN system contains more than 272,000 celestial objects, including 260,000 stars from the SAO catalogue, 109 Messier objects, 7840 NGC objects and 5380 IC objects, as well the soon, moon and planets. Objects can be accessed by name, and information such as images and data can be defined separately.A combination of innovative, elegant design and user-friendly featuresThe improved design of the stable and rigid mount body, which features precise tracking with a P-PEC function and STAR BOOK TEN control system, offers a highly precise, easy to use mount that is guaranteed to please astrophotographers and observers.Special motor mount for lighter counterweightThe heavy RA and DEC motor units are built into the bottom of the declination axis to ensure that the centre of gravity of the equatorial head is below the RA and DEC axis. This enables the declination body to function as a counterweight. Thanks to the flat mounting head, the mount can be balanced with a significantly lighter counterweight.Retractable counterweight barThe counterweight bar is made from solid stainless steel with a thickness of 20 mm, and enables the use of all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed in the declination body. The VC200L in detailAstrophotographers generally use two different focal lengths: Short focal lengths for overview photos and extensive deep-sky objects, and long focal lengths for objects which are further away. Our aspherical mirror optics offer the perfect solution for these scenarios. The VISAC primary mirror (Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain) is specially designed for astrophotography and provides a fully flat and true-colour image over the entire image frame. Thanks to the three-element field corrector in front of the convex secondary mirror, there is no spherical aberration, coma or field curvature. Vixen AXD2 with VMC 260 Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope
AXD2 GoTo mount with VMC260L telescope set The AXD2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN controller and the PFL polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars. This telescope set has everything that you need for hobby astronomy. The set includes a telescope, a mount with automatic tracking and a stable tripod. Featuring the STARBOOK TEN controller, the telescope locates celestial objects automatically so that you don’t need to search for them manually. Even if you’re not an expert, you can still give your friends an exciting tour through the night sky! The AXD 2 mount in detail: Robust construction and lightweight housing with 30 kg load capacity (photographic) The RA and DEC axes are made using the A7075 superalloy, one the strongest aluminium alloys. The stability of the A7075 superalloy is stronger than titanium, which is known for its strength as a lightweight material. Its thickness is 38% less than titanium. Using the A7075 superalloy for the axes ensures that the AXD mount is both lightweight and stable. 21 bearings The rotating parts of the AXD mount have a total of 21 bearings. These ensure uniform motion in order to swivel the telescope and track objects. Stepper motors Vixen uses precise stepper motors for the mount in order to ensure optimal performance. Worm gears The sizes of the worm gears were increased in the latest Atlux version. The AXD mount has 270 teeth in the RA axis and 216 teeth in the DC axis. Both axes are 50 mm in diameter. This ensures that the mount operates with precision and stability. Low backlash The Vixen micro-step motion control system ensures that the stepper motors run uniformly at low and high speeds. This eliminates the need for reduction gears in the motor and therefore reduces the backlash in the gears. Elegant design The flat sides of the mount were designed based on previous generations of the New Atlux range. The white and silver housing provides a modern and elegant exterior with high functionality. The AXD is the flagship model in the Vixen mount range. Original motor layout The solid RA and DEC motor units are arranged in the lower part of the mount. This means that they automatically act as a counterweight. As a result, you require far fewer weights on the counterweight bar. On small devices, no counterweight is required. The counterweight bar can be slid fully into the housing. Polar finder scope The AXD mount is equipped with a 6x20 polar finder as standard. The polar finder features an integrated scale, which provides a quick and easy way to polar align the telescope in the northern hemisphere. For observations in southern latitudes, the polar finder features an image of the Octans constellation, which can be aligned with the night sky. VPEC periodic error correction Periodic errors on mounts are usually measured and corrected by the user. The VMC 260 in detail The optics of the VMC260L are significantly better than the traditional Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Despite its high 3000 mm focal length, it is just 650 mm long. Featuring a large 260 mm aperture, the telescope collects large amounts of light for serious professional observations and photography of the planets and countless deep-sky objects. Thanks to the dielectric mirrors, the VMV260L guarantees razor-sharp images and maximum brightness. The open lens barrels cool the telescope quicker than conventional closed Cassegrain systems. The telescope can be used with an optional 0.62x focal reducer to reduce the aperture ratio to 1:7.1. This shortens the exposure times and allows you to photograph large objects. The telescope comes with a standard dovetail bar and a carry handle that doubles up as a camera holder for night sky photography. BRESSER Messier NT-203s/800 EXOS 2 GOTO Telescope
NEW – now including a high-quality aperture Solar-filter for safe observation of sunspots, eclipses and planet transits. Great telescope for night and solar observation. In the past few years the BRESSER Newton telescopes have become the standard workhorse for Deep Sky astrophotography. We now proudly present the second generation of this telescope, the BRESSER NT-203s/800 with Hexafoc and fast parabolic main mirror. The Bresser NT-203s/800 f3.9 will deliver you deeper images due to its - compared to 8" f/5 systems - oversized primary mirror and therefore faster optical system with the same exposure time. The big 85 mm secondary prevents vignetting for optimal illumination The excellent 2,5" Hexafoc focuser also does not cause vignetting due to its large diameter and makes focussing a joy - the smoothness and shifting-free operation sets new standards in this price class. This groundbreaking focuser, tube rings with 44mm universal standard dovetail and camera mounting feature and a high-end finderscope with haircross and laser-engraved scale  leave nothing to desire even for demanding astrophotographers. The NT-203s/800 Hexafoc has a classical tube construction with an aluminium tube. The focuser can be upgraded with a 10:1 reduction (part No. 0625720) without problems. Also prepared for use with the HR Coma Corrector (part No. 0510330) which eliminates coma, field-curvature and astigmatism. BRESSER EXOS-2 GoTo Equatorial Mount. Mount, tripod and hand box with computer. This German mount has tracking motors in both axes that follow celestial objects very precisely. The handbox with GoTo works reliable and controls the mount in every situation. Precise ball bearings in both axes ensures minimal backlash at all nine possible tracking speeds. The battery pack (12 V) is conveniently fastened to the tripod shelf and takes eight size D batteries. The mount rests on a very tough and rigid stainless steel tripod and can take optical tubes of up to 13 kg. GOTO Stargazing at the push of a button ! The Startracker GoTo System enables beginners to start astronomical observations in just a few minutes, and guides you to objects that are hard to localize through a standard finder scope.Just push the button and the GoTo System will find planets, nebulae or galaxies for you and position your telescope automatically and precise. The GoTo System database includes thousands of astronomical objects. The Messier mount with GoTo System allows you to observe without tedious searching, or image faint objects that are hard to find in a standard finder scope. Please note: Reflector telescopes with optical design Newton are very good for astronomical observing at the starry night sky. Vixen SD103SII Telescope OTA
The Vixen SD103SII Telescope OTA is a new 103 mm apochromatic refractor with high-performance Super-ED glass (= SD). The advantage of this SD refractor is its short length and low weight. The FPL53 glass reproduces an extremely clear and sharp image by an exceptionally high degree of elimination of residual chromatic aberrations. The SD glass is designed to bring all beams of violet, red, blue, yellow and green very precisely together on the same plane. The special lens material reduces chromatic aberration across all colours. The new Vixen SD103SII no longer uses spacer plates, which leads to a significantly better image quality, especially with bright stars. In photographic images, no spikes can be seen on the stars, which were otherwise produced by the spacer plates. In addition, you will be thrilled when you look at the moon or the brighter planets and observe the moon craters pin sharp as well as with extremely high contrast. Also look at the ring planet Saturn or the cloud bands on Jupiter. But of course, brighter deep sky objects such as the Orion Nebula or the Andromeda Galaxy can also be observed in impressive detail. In combination with the new optional SD Reducer HD Kit or SD Flattener HD, these refractors allow illumination with a 44 mm image circle for full format SLR cameras. The older ED81SII, ED103S, ED115S refractors were originally developed for visual observers and photographers using APS-C cameras. However, the new SD series is also optimised for use with full-frame cameras through the use of new inner baffle rings. The large 60 mm eyepiece extension also allows heavy cameras to be attached without tilting. Furthermore, the included folding mirror allows comfortable observation even in unfavourable observation situations and additionally offers a T2 thread for connecting a DSLR camera. This allows you to observe in straight line or at a 90° angle. The carrying handle attached to the tube clamps ensures a secure grip when transporting the telescope. FEATURESObjective lens: D=103 mm, multi-coated 2-lens SD apochromat without spacer plates No more spikes on the stars Focal length: 795 mm (f7.7) Resolution and limiting magnitude: 1.13 arcseconds; 11.8 Light gathering power: approx. 217x more than the human eye Dimensions and weight: 115 mm dia x 810 mm; 5.5 kg Viewfinder telescope: 7x50 illuminated Adapters and connections: 60 mm thread, 50.8 mm and 31.7 mm socket, thread for T-ring Connection: 50.8 mm and 31.7 mm socket with flip mirror / folding mirror Photography: primary focus and eyepiece projection SCOPE OF DELIVERY Refractor SD103SII Telescope (OTA) Tube clamp with dovetail Dew cap Flip mirror / folding mirror Carrying handle Dovetail rail 7x50 viewfinder

Vixen SXP2-AX103S-S-PFL Telescope Complete Set
SXP2 mount with AX103S apochromatic refractor. The SXP2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN control technology and the PFL polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars. The AX103S was optimized for photography and provides a sharp image all the way to the edges. The telescope set also offers outstanding visual performance and produces sharp and high-contrast images without chromatic aberration. The mount can be operated fully automatically and finds celestial objects automatically. The AX 103S in detail The AX103S is a top-of-the-range ED apochromat in the refractor series. It features a triplet ED object lens and a rear-mounted field-flattener lens. The AX 103Sis corrected for full frame photography and provides razor-sharp pictures right into the corners of the image field. This telescope is guaranteed to provide a lifetime of outstanding performance! The SXP 2 mount in detail Strong mount housing Compared with previous models, the new SXP2 mount features larger bearings in order to increase the accuracy and load capacity. The mounting housing is made from a stronger material than the previous SX mounts. The equatorial head is clamped into a fork in order to increase the stability of the polar alignment wedge. Precise tracking with P-PEC function The SXP2 mount comes with the modern STARBOOK TEN control system. The belt drive system minimizes backlash and noise Conventional motor-driven systems on equatorial mounts use gear wheels, which are driven by the motor. However, this design generates backlash under the gear wheels, which can lead to inaccuracies. To avoid these errors, the drive was converted to a belt drive system. This drastically reduces the backlash of the gear unit, as well as the noise generated by the drive system. It also ensures a quicker reaction when corrections are required. 16 bearings The mechanical parts contain a total of 16 bearings. The SXP2 mount uses a set of tapered roller bearings for the RA axis in order to provide additional stability for more precise tracking. Stable polar alignment wedge The SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavy AXJ mount. This new construction enables a quick and stable configuration of the latitude setting. Simple and precise polar alignment via reference star The 6x20 polar finder scope is pre-installed. This allows the user to configure the polar alignment (for both the northern and southern hemispheres). The polar finder scope has a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic power-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels so that the user can configure the desired brightness. The polar finder scope can be configured directly via three reference stars and can reach an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes. Variable mount head The mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and features 8 threaded holes for M8 screws spaced at 45 degrees. An optional accessory tray can be attached to the mount head directly or in combination with an optional mounting wedge for dovetail plates. The threaded holes on the mounting head can also be used to mount rails from other manufacturers. Modern STAR BOOK TEN controller with high-resolution colour display and built-in star chart The STAR BOOK TEN controller is a modern control system with a high-resolution colour monitor. The STAR BOOK TEN system contains more than 272,000 celestial objects, including 260,000 stars from the SAO catalogue, 109 Messier objects, 7840 NGC objects and 5380 IC objects, as well the soon, moon and planets. Objects can be accessed by name, and information such as images and data can be defined separately. A combination of innovative, elegant design and user-friendly features The improved design of the stable and rigid mount body, which features precise tracking with a P-PEC function and STAR BOOK TEN control system, offers a highly precise, easy to use mount that is guaranteed to please astrophotographers and observers. Special motor mount for lighter counterweight The heavy RA and DEC motor units are built into the bottom of the declination axis to ensure that the centre of gravity of the equatorial head is below the RA and DEC axis. This enables the declination body to function as a counterweight. Thanks to the flat mounting head, the mount can be balanced with a significantly lighter counterweight. Retractable counterweight bar The counterweight bar is made from solid stainless steel with a thickness of 20 mm, and enables the use of all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed in the declination body.
