Product information "Vixen SXP2-VC200L-S-PFL Telescope Complete Set"
SXP2 mount with VC200L telescope This telescope set has everything you need to observe the night sky. It includes a telescope, a mount with automatic tracking, a tripod and two eyepieces. The SXP2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN controller and the PFL-II polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars. The VC200L was designed for photography and renders a sharp and high-contrast image to the edges of the camera chip. It produces stunningly sharp images of the galaxies and nebula. The telescope set also offers outstanding visual performance and produces sharp images without chromatic aberration. It also produces impressive images of the moon's craters and Saturn's ring system. The mount can be operated fully automatically and finds celestial objects automatically.

The SXP 2 mount in detail

Strong mount housing
Compared with previous models, the new SXP2 mount features larger bearings in order to increase the accuracy and load capacity.
The mounting housing is made from a stronger material than the previous SX mounts.
The equatorial head is clamped into a fork in order to increase the stability of the polar alignment wedge.
Precise tracking with P-PEC function
The SXP2 mount comes with the modern STARBOOK TEN control system. This includes a P-PEC function for precise tracking. PEC stands for ''Periodic Error Corrections'' and corrects errors in the mechanics which lead to periodic errors in the gear systems. The P-PEC function, which is based on the PEC function, is designed for the SXP2 equatorial mount. The P-PEC function saves the records of corrections, even after the power supply to the mount has been switched off. It is not necessary to re-enter the data each time, which enables a quicker setup and more precise tracking.
The belt drive system minimizes backlash and noise
Conventional motor-driven systems on equatorial mounts use gear wheels, which are driven by the motor.
However, this design generates backlash under the gear wheels, which can lead to inaccuracies.
To avoid these errors, the drive was converted to a belt drive system. This drastically reduces the backlash of the gear unit, as well as the noise generated by the drive system. It also ensures a quicker reaction when corrections are required.
16 bearings
The mechanical parts contain a total of 16 bearings.
The SXP2 mount uses a set of tapered roller bearings for the RA axis in order to provide additional stability for more precise tracking.
Stable polar alignment wedge
The SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavy AXJ mount. This new construction enables a quick and stable configuration of the latitude setting.
Simple and precise polar alignment via reference star
The 6x20 polar finder scope is pre-installed. This allows the user to configure the polar alignment (for both the northern and southern hemispheres). The polar finder scope has a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic power-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels so that the user can configure the desired brightness.
The polar finder scope can be configured directly via three reference stars and can reach an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes.
Variable mount head
The mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and features 8 threaded holes for M8 screws spaced at 45 degrees. An optional accessory tray can be attached to the mount head directly or in combination with an optional mounting wedge for dovetail plates. The threaded holes on the mounting head can also be used to mount rails from other manufacturers.
Modern STAR BOOK TEN controller with high-resolution colour display and built-in star chart
The STAR BOOK TEN controller is a modern control system with a high-resolution colour monitor.
The STAR BOOK TEN system contains more than 272,000 celestial objects, including 260,000 stars from the SAO catalogue, 109 Messier objects, 7840 NGC objects and 5380 IC objects, as well the soon, moon and planets. Objects can be accessed by name, and information such as images and data can be defined separately.
A combination of innovative, elegant design and user-friendly features
The improved design of the stable and rigid mount body, which features precise tracking with a P-PEC function and STAR BOOK TEN control system, offers a highly precise, easy to use mount that is guaranteed to please astrophotographers and observers.
Special motor mount for lighter counterweight
The heavy RA and DEC motor units are built into the bottom of the declination axis to ensure that the centre of gravity of the equatorial head is below the RA and DEC axis. This enables the declination body to function as a counterweight. Thanks to the flat mounting head, the mount can be balanced with a significantly lighter counterweight.
Retractable counterweight bar
The counterweight bar is made from solid stainless steel with a thickness of 20 mm, and enables the use of all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed in the declination body.

The VC200L in detail

Astrophotographers generally use two different focal lengths: Short focal lengths for overview photos and extensive deep-sky objects, and long focal lengths for objects which are further away. Our aspherical mirror optics offer the perfect solution for these scenarios. The VISAC primary mirror (Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain) is specially designed for astrophotography and provides a fully flat and true-colour image over the entire image frame. Thanks to the three-element field corrector in front of the convex secondary mirror, there is no spherical aberration, coma or field curvature. Although the device is designed for astrophotography, it is also suitable for visual observations.

Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor for Canon EOS Cameras
Vixen 60DX Focal adaptor for Canon EOS Cameras This Vixen 60DX is a photographic adaptor for Canon EOS cameras, for use with telescopes with a 60 mm focuser drawtube connection thread. A redesign by Vixen uses new tougher materials for a more solid connection and also offers an accurate, well-machined camera rotator ring, in order to help frame your images perfectly. Camera-Adaptor for Canon EOS with 60mm Focuser connection thread Large inner diameter for full-format cameras, helping to minimise vignetting 6 locking 60° spaced bolts to hold the camera’s rotation in position Dimensions: 81mm x 30 mm / weight: 190g The option of using 6 long or 6 short fixing screws for the rotator The Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor connects your Canon EOS DSLR Camera to a telescope with an appropriate 60 mm Focuser Drawtube Thread. Thanks to the use of new materials and an improved design Vixen was able to considerably uprate both precision and durability, when compared to conventional rotational camera adaptors. Two sets of rotational locking bolts (Long and Short) are supplied. The longer ones are knurled and easy to turn by hand. The shorter options help to prevent marring of the camera casing, when using certain designs of camera and are also much less easy to turn by hand, increasing security if you need the camera locked in a particular rotational position for longer periods. The large inner dimension of this adaptor prevents vignetting at the edges of the image when using full frame DSLR cameras. Canon EOS-Bayonet fastener made of hardwearing brass, for years of hassle-free use. Increased material quality over conventional adapters provides more stability in use. 6 fixing bolts hold the camera in rotational position for increased sturdiness (standard rotators often only use 4, or less). FEATURES Screw tips with Delrin-tips prevent tilting of the camera and subsequent image distortion. Large inner diameter prevents vignetting. Inner blackening suppresses scattered light. Compatible with 60 mm accessories, when the camera adaptor is taken off. Two rotational bolt sets (Long and Short) are supplied. SCOPE OF DELIVERY 60DA Focal adaptor 6 long and 6 short fixing screws

Vixen SG-L02 Headlamp red-light white-light
The perfect LED head torch for nighttime observations! Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations. In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light. With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light. Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness. The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem. However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility. They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark. The LEDs do not emit light in the sensitive range of 555 nm. The brightness of the white light can be adjusted between 3 and 42 lumen, while the red light can be adjusted between 0.28 and 7.62 lumen. FEATURES Dimmable red light ensures that your eyes stay adapted to the dark Built-in rechargeable battery, charges via USB Waterproof design LED colour can be switched from red to white 0.28 to 7.62 lumen for red light 3 to 42 lumen for white light Dimensions: 41 mm x 33 mm x 30 mm Weight: 29 g DELIVERY CONTENT SG-L02 head torch Strap (size S) Strap (size L) Pocket clip Cable for charging the battery (USB-A plug to USB Micro-B plug)

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC MAK-NT 152 CF EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo Telescope Set
With the Maksutov Newton MN-152 David H. Levy Comet Hunter and the EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount by EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, you get an excellent telescope set specifically designed for wide-field observations and astrophotography. The highly corrected Maksutov-Newton offers much sharper images than classic Newtonian telescopes, making it ideal for visual observations and digital astrophotography. The outstanding mount with a precise GoTo system and the intuitive ExploreStars app ensures accurate tracking and easy navigation of the night sky. This is the perfect equipment for ambitious amateur astronomers who value the highest image quality and easy operation! The Telescope The Maksutov Newton MN-152 David H. Levy Comet Hunter is a highly corrected optical system for wide-field observation and astrophotography, developed in collaboration with the famous "comet hunter" David H. Levy. The Maksutov-Newton system, by design, has advantages and disadvantages compared to the classic Newtonian telescope. Aside from the higher cost, its drawback is the heavier weight due to the thick meniscus lens at the front opening. The main advantage of the Maksutov-Newton over the classic Newtonian is its edge sharpness. Newtonian telescopes are only sharp in the centre of the image, while off-centre they show the prominent coma, which distorts the star point into a tail, like a small comet, causing a loss of sharpness and contrast. The Maksutov-Newton significantly reduces this error, making it sharper for most purposes, both for visual observation and photography with digital SLR cameras. The Maksutov-Newton is therefore an almost ideal all-round telescope, providing sharp images across the field without additional correctors. The Mount The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount is equipped with a modern and very precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi controller unit that provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are directly connected to this unit by cable, and an ST-4 compatible autoguider port is also included. Additionally, the system supports microstep operation for precise tracking. Intuitive control via app and graphical star map The dedicated ExploreStars app for the PMC-Eight system features an intuitive user interface with a well-designed graphical star map. All current alignment stars for GoTo system initialisation and all database objects are displayed as a star map with additional text information. All of these objects can be easily viewed and selected. Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customisation The heart of the controller unit is a completely autonomous 2-channel multiprocessor with 8 CPUs and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP functionality. This allows remote operation via browser, ASCOM, app, or serial connection. With Open GoTo, you can also write your own firmware and load it into the controller unit, allowing for custom adjustments to the device’s functionality and the creation of custom object lists. Polar finder included The included and pre-installed polar finderscope allows for quick and precise polar alignment, enabling long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED illumination unit enhances the user experience with the polar finderscope. Vixen AXD2 with VMC 260 Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope
AXD2 GoTo mount with VMC260L telescope set The AXD2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN controller and the PFL polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars. This telescope set has everything that you need for hobby astronomy. The set includes a telescope, a mount with automatic tracking and a stable tripod. Featuring the STARBOOK TEN controller, the telescope locates celestial objects automatically so that you don’t need to search for them manually. Even if you’re not an expert, you can still give your friends an exciting tour through the night sky! The AXD 2 mount in detail: Robust construction and lightweight housing with 30 kg load capacity (photographic) The RA and DEC axes are made using the A7075 superalloy, one the strongest aluminium alloys. The stability of the A7075 superalloy is stronger than titanium, which is known for its strength as a lightweight material. Its thickness is 38% less than titanium. Using the A7075 superalloy for the axes ensures that the AXD mount is both lightweight and stable. 21 bearings The rotating parts of the AXD mount have a total of 21 bearings. These ensure uniform motion in order to swivel the telescope and track objects. Stepper motors Vixen uses precise stepper motors for the mount in order to ensure optimal performance. The motors are controlled via a micro-step motion control system, which eliminates the disadvantage of stepper motors with large steps. The system generates 400 impulses per second at a high speed. This results in very quiet scanning with no vibrations. The stepper motors on the AXD mount have sufficient torques. This is most significant when working at high magnifications and photographing with a CCD camera with small pixel sizes. Worm gears The sizes of the worm gears were increased in the latest Atlux version. The AXD mount has 270 teeth in the RA axis and 216 teeth in the DC axis. Both axes are 50 mm in diameter. This ensures that the mount operates with precision and stability. Low backlash The Vixen micro-step motion control system ensures that the stepper motors run uniformly at low and high speeds. This eliminates the need for reduction gears in the motor and therefore reduces the backlash in the gears. Elegant design The flat sides of the mount were designed based on previous generations of the New Atlux range. The white and silver housing provides a modern and elegant exterior with high functionality. The AXD is the flagship model in the Vixen mount range. Original motor layout The solid RA and DEC motor units are arranged in the lower part of the mount. This means that they automatically act as a counterweight. As a result, you require far fewer weights on the counterweight bar. On small devices, no counterweight is required. The counterweight bar can be slid fully into the housing. Polar finder scope The AXD mount is equipped with a 6x20 polar finder as standard. The polar finder features an integrated scale, which provides a quick and easy way to polar align the telescope in the northern hemisphere. For observations in southern latitudes, the polar finder features an image of the Octans constellation, which can be aligned with the night sky. VPEC periodic error correction Periodic errors on mounts are usually measured and corrected by the user. Unlike the old StarBook controller, the STAR BOOK TEN controller saves these errors permanently. The periodic error of the mount is measured in the factory and corrected before delivery. This is known as VPEC and functions automatically as soon as you use the mount. It delivers an accuracy of +/- 2.8 arc seconds. You can increase the tracking accuracy further by saving your own recorded periodic errors. The VMC 260 in detail The optics of the VMC260L are significantly better than the traditional Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Despite its high 3000 mm focal length, it is just 650 mm long. Featuring a large 260 mm aperture, the telescope collects large amounts of light for serious professional observations and photography of the planets and countless deep-sky objects. Thanks to the dielectric mirrors, the VMV260L guarantees razor-sharp images and maximum brightness. The open lens barrels cool the telescope quicker than conventional closed Cassegrain systems. The telescope can be used with an optional 0.62x focal reducer to reduce the aperture ratio to 1:7.1. This shortens the exposure times and allows you to photograph large objects. The telescope comes with a standard dovetail bar and a carry handle that doubles up as a camera holder for night sky photography.
