SX2WL A80Mf telescope set with mount, tripod and eyepieces
The A80Mf refractor is an ideal entry-level model for astronomy beginners who value high quality. Thanks to the Vixen quality controls, the 80 mm lens impresses with its outstanding optical performance.
Two Plössl eyepieces (6.3 mm and 20 mm) and a 90° star diagonal are already included in the scope of delivery.
Explore the moon and the brighter planets with the A80Mf. On good nights, you can observe the rings of the planet Saturn and the two brightest cloud bands on Jupiter are also visible. If the weather permits, you can even see the large red spot on the planet. On moonless nights, you can also observe the Andromeda Nebula or the Orion Nebula.
The sturdy metal focuser provides a secure and stable mount for eyepieces, camera or other accessories. The 6x24 finder allows you to find celestial objects very quickly and easily. You can also connect your DSLR camera to the telescope using the T2 thread built into the focuser with an optional T-adapter. The sturdy metal tripod enables vibration-free installation of the telescope and mount, even in windy weather.

The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result, the motors move much more smoothly than in previous models.

The SLV eyepieces with high-quality lanthanum glass provide remarkably clear and high-contrast images of the night sky right to the edge of the field of view. The lanthanum elements almost completely eliminate chromatic aberration, producing a colour-neutral image right up to the edges. The lenses are also fully multi-coated for high light transmission.
The eyecup can be twisted up and down, making the eyepiece suitable for glasses wearers. The large exit pupil distance of 20 mm means that the eye does not become fatigued during longer periods of use, and the entire field of view can be seen clearly even when wearing glasses.
The eyepiece also features a standard 1.25" filter thread for colour and nebula filters. In addition, the insides of the eyepiece sleeves are fully blackened to reduce distracting reflections.

Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations.
In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light.
With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light.
Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness.
The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem.
However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility.
They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark.
The LEDs do not emit light in the sensitive range of 555 nm.
The brightness of the white light can be adjusted between 3 and 42 lumen, while the red light can be adjusted between 0.28 and 7.62 lumen.

Vixen Polarscope PF-L II for AP & SX Mounts

Vixen’s latest design of polar finder, allows a simple, hassle-free method of polar alignment. The Vixen Polarscope PF-L II for AP & SX mounts has a reticule showing the Pole star (Polaris) and two other stars (Delta UMi and 51 Cep) in their precise positions. By turning the Polarscope you can easily match the reticle with the asterism of these stars in the sky and mechanically adjust your mount’s azimuth and altitude axes to align to the true North Pole. You can then adjust the Polar star to a more precise alignment using the reticule’s year marking (which runs from 2015 to 2040, but in practise can be used much longer after this) .
Using this alignment process, with visual reference to the actual stars in the sky, a complicated alignment, using date and time to calculate Polaris offset from the pole is unnecessary. For alignment in the Southern Hemisphere you simply use the Trapezium asterism (Sigma, Chi, Tau and Upsilon Octantis) of the constellation Octans and position the reticule with the trapezium stars aligned to their marked positions.
The Polarscope has built-in LED illumination, which is dimmable in many stages, and ensures an automatic shut-off after 2 minutes, saving your battery life.
The PFL-II also has an improved edge sharpness, when compared with its predecessor.

The Telescope

The Mount
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount comes equipped with a modern and very precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi controller unit, providing all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors connect directly to this unit via cable, and an ST-4 compatible autoguider interface is also available. The control system also supports micro-stepping to ensure precise tracking.
Intuitive control via app and graphical star map
The specially developed ExploreStars app for the PMC-Eight system impresses with an intuitive and visually appealing user interface. The currently available alignment stars for control initialization, as well as all celestial objects from the database, are displayed as a star map with additional text information. All these objects can be conveniently viewed and selected.
Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customization
