The Microscope in Detail

The BRESSER Science ETD-201 is an optically high-quality reflected and transmitted light stereo microscope.
It is suitable for use in medicine, agriculture and forestry, forensics, scientific research institutes and schools as well as for assembly and inspection of small components in precision mechanics and electronics.
The particularly wide base with object table and the exceptionally large height adjustment range allow the observation of larger objects. The instrument features LED reflected and transmitted illumination, which can be used individually or combined and each dimmed steplessly. The reflected light incidence angle is particularly user-friendly adjustable and lockable. With interchangeable widefield eyepieces (WF10x) and a 6.25x stereo zoom objective (0.8x-5x), a continuous magnification range of 8x to 50x is realised. The click-stop zoom locks at predefined positions, so that magnifications can be exactly reproduced, e.g. for measurements on the microscope. The eyepieces have a field number of 22, allowing a visible field of view between 4.5 and 27.5 mm.

The eye distance and dioptre adjustment are individually adjustable. The trinocular microscope head can be rotated 360° and has two eyepiece tubes inclined at 45° as well as a separate, parfocally adjustable camera tube for connecting a C-Mount camera, or MikroCam, up to a 1/2" sensor size.

The Microscope Camera in Detail

The BRESSER MikroCam II cameras enable easy capturing of photos and videos with a microscope.

The modern Sony® CMOS sensors deliver brilliant colours with overall very low image noise and are therefore the perfect solution for applications where natural colour reproduction is important. The included capture software offers numerous settings for capturing single images and videos. An integrated measurement function* allows measurement already in the live image. The included software supports the following languages: German, English, French, Polish, Turkish, Chinese.

The housing features a C-Mount connection thread. For use on devices with 23.2mm mount, an optional variable reduction optic 0.5x (Art. No. 5914005) is available. For special applications, the camera can also be mounted on the integrated 1/4'' tripod thread.

Compared to the MikroCam SP, the BRESSER MikroCamII is equipped with a USB 3.0 connection. This allows up to 8 times higher data rates than USB 2.0 connections. The cameras are thus capable of transmitting more than 25 frames per second (depending on resolution, exposure time and computer performance). This is especially important for living microorganisms. The camera is exceptionally light-sensitive, allowing short exposure times even at high magnifications or demanding contrast methods.

The BRESSER Mechanical Stage for Stereo Microscopes allows precise object movement in both the X and Y directions, making accurate positioning easy. Each axis features a vernier scale for added precision. Thanks to its adjustable movement, the mechanical stage can also be used to create mosaic images when combined with a BRESSER MikroCam (II, SP, SF). It is designed to replace the standard stage plate on a microscope and is compatible with devices that have a 95 mm stage plate. Objects appear three-dimensional and plastic due to the Greenough design with two inclined objectives. The 3D image also makes working with tools (e.g. preparing, dissecting, soldering) much easier.The zoom allows stepless adjustment of magnification with a zoom factor of 4.0 (1x-4x). Only minimal refocusing is needed when zooming. For this, the Advance ICD has a coaxial focusing drive with coarse and fine adjustment. This allows particularly sensitive focusing at high magnifications or for photography. The fine focus is also a great aid for focus stacking, e.g. with our MikroCam cameras (optional).The interpupillary distance is individually adjustable.
