Slides and cover glasses are an indispensable accessory which has also impact on the image quality. For most biological microscopes, the cover glass thickness is an important optical parameter, which is therefore included in the optical design and, if so, printed on the sleeve of every objective. You can usually see the number 0.17 which is the thickness in millimeters. For demanding applications in the laboratory, or for microphotography, using cover glasses with the desired thickness and high quality is necessary. The cover glasses included in the set are made of Boro 3.3 glass and are standardized to a thickness of 0.16-0.19mm. So they match the desired 0.17mm really good and give the best possible image quality. These Boro 3.3 cover glasses are pure white, without streaks and are pre-cleaned and ready to use. They are also especially suitable for fluorescence microscopy. The slides are made of soda lime glass, and have ground edges for safe handling. They have a matte field for writing on both sides (top and bottom). Slides and cover glasses are packed separately and in a vacuum sealed bag, containing moisture absorbent. They can be stored for a long time without loss of quality from hydrolysis and are easy to take out.

Explore hidden worlds through your own eyes – with the BRESSER Pollux-I telescope starter set for budding amateur astronomers, you can go on your own journey of discovery in outer space. Everything you need is already included: the astronomical reflector telescope with 150 mm aperture and 750 mm focal length, the equatorial mount, the tripod and a wide range of accessories for astronomical observations. Perfect for getting started quickly: the system is very easy to use. In addition, the entry-level telescope impresses with its versatility: you can observe the Moon and planets as well as star clusters, gas nebulae and even galaxies through the high-quality optics. Due to the parabolic primary mirror the image delights with impressive sharpness and high contrast. In addition, the 2-inch focuser allows for the use of high-quality eyepieces. Perfect conditions for fascinating sights of the night sky!
Time-proven optics for your first astro-steps – the telescope
By choosing the Pollux-I, you’ll start your journey to the stars with a classic Newtonian reflector telescope. Beginners are often surprised by the fact that with telescopes of this type you don't look in at the back of the tube, but at the front and laterally. This gives you the advantage of always being able to look into the telescope in a comfortable posture, even when it's pointed vertically upwards at the sky. In addition, these reflector telescopes offer optics that are absolutely free of chromatic aberrations and thus provide good imaging properties.
The large aperture of 150 mm collects a lot of light from the celestial objects. In addition, 150 mm aperture and 750 mm focal length result in a short focal ratio (ratio of aperture to focal length) of 1 to 5 (F/5). On the one hand, this makes the telescope fast and provide a bright image. On the other hand, high magnifications can be achieved. This combination makes the entry-level telescope so versatile. In addition, the Pollux-I is equipped with a parabolic primary mirror. The remarkable effect of this special mirror shape: you enjoy excellent imaging properties at all magnification levels.
So you can look forward to the complete range of celestial highlights. At low to medium magnification, you can admire deep-sky objects such as open star clusters, globular clusters, gas nebulae and even galaxies such as the pair of galaxies M65 and M66 in the constellation Leo. And at high magnifications, observing the planets or details on the Moon is an absolute pleasure.
You can get really close to your favourite objects: The aperture of 150 mm achieves a resolving power that allows magnifications of up to about 300x with sharp images. Technically, even higher magnifications are possible, theoretically up to 562.5x using the included accessories. However, with increasing magnification, the sharpness of the image can slowly decrease. In addition, the prevailing conditions always make a difference: How highly you can magnify always depends not only on the power of the telescope but also on the air turbulence in the atmosphere (seeing conditions).
The telescope also impresses with its flexibility in terms of eyepiece compatibility: it comes with a 2-inch focuser (focuser extension) and an adapter from 2 inch to 1.25 inch. This enables you to use eyepieces with 1.25-inch sockets (about 31.7 mm) as well as eyepieces with the larger 2-inch sockets (about 50.8 mm) with large fields of view.
Note for nature lovers:
If you choose a Newtonian telescope like the Pollux-I reflector telescope, you can look forward to a specialist in astronomical observation. However, the image is always displayed laterally reversed as well as upside down, which makes no difference when observing the sky. However, this type of telescope is less suitable for nature and landscape observation during the day. Would you like to use your new telescope for exciting nature discoveries as well? Then we recommend that you choose one of the BRESSER refractor telescopes.
Perfect foundation for fascinating discoveries – mount and tripod
Your beginner's telescope is securely held by the height-adjustable aluminium tripod with equatorial mount. The special feature of this mount, also known as a parallactic mount: in contrast to azimuthal models, the movement of the celestial bodies is only compensated for on one axis instead of two. For this purpose, you simply align one axis parallel to the Earth's axis by pointing it approximately at Polaris.
For precise and comfortable alignment and tracking of the entry-level telescope, the Pollux-I comes equipped with two flexible shafts with fine adjustment. And to ensure that the interchangeable eyepieces, barlow lens etc. always remain within reach, they can be stored on the tray between the tripod legs.Keep track of things automatically: For this telescope’s equatorial EQ-3 mount, the tracking motor with item number 4951400 is available as an optional accessory. This eliminates the need to manually track a celestial object set in the telescope. When this motor is installed at the mount, it automatically tracks the celestial object, keeping it in the field of view of the eyepiece. This makes observing the night sky even more comfortable!
Well equipped for the ideal start – the accessories
Your entry-level telescope comes with a wide range of astronomy accessories so that you can start to be amazed right away. For example, the LED viewfinder helps you align the telescope and find celestial objects. Installed in parallel on the telescope, this direction finder shows you a red dot when you look through it. It appears to hover in front of the sky and thereby shows you where the telescope is pointing.
Varying view of the sky: With the two eyepieces with 1.25-inch sockets (31.7 mm), you can admire your astronomical discoveries at different magnifications. The 3x barlow lens already included in the set triples the magnification of the eyepiece you are using.
Enjoy safe observations of our Sun with the included solar filter. This way you can easily take a closer look at sunspots and granulation on our own star.
CAUTION: Never point the telescope at the Sun without the solar filter!
Astrophotography for beginners: with the smartphone adapter, you can use your mobile phone as a camera on the telescope. This way you will quickly impress friends and relatives with your own first snapshots e. g. of the Moon or the Sun.

Professional complete set for precise analyses and routine observations:
This powerful set combines the high-quality Advance ICD stereo microscope with the modern MikroCam SF UHD camera and a 0.5x reduction lens. It is ideal for fine detail observations, sharp live images, and reliable documentation of your results. The microscope in detailThe BRESSER Advance ICD is suitable as a zoom stereo loupe for a wide range of observations. Objects appear three-dimensional and plastic due to the Greenough design with two inclined objectives. The 3D image also makes working with tools (e.g. preparing, dissecting, soldering) much easier. The zoom allows stepless adjustment of magnification with a zoom factor of 4.0 (1x-4x). Only minimal refocusing is required when zooming. For this, the Advance ICD has a coaxial focusing drive with coarse and fine adjustment. This allows particularly sensitive focusing, especially at high magnifications or for photography. The fine focus is also a great aid for focus stacking, e.g. with our MikroCam cameras (optional). The interpupillary distance is individually adjustable. Both eyepiece holders have a dioptre adjustment, allowing differences in visual acuity of up to approx. 8 dpt between the left and right eye to be compensated. The 10x widefield eyepieces with a field number of 22 are equipped with removable rubber eyecups. The microscope head can be adjusted very far in height on the stand rod. This allows very large objects up to an object height of approx. 22 cm to be observed. The bright LED incident light illumination is adjustable in its inclination. The particularly even and bright LED transmitted light illumination provides a homogeneous background for transmitted light specimens. The illumination can be set with a toggle switch, so incident and transmitted light can be used separately or together depending on the type of sample. You can conveniently adjust the brightness with the dimmer. The bright LED illumination produces no heat, so living samples can be safely observed over a longer period. A low-power 5V power adapter (with Euro and UK adapter) is used to power the long-lasting LED illumination. The power cable has a USB connector on one side. The Advance ICD can be used in many ways due to the large magnification range. In addition to the included 2x auxiliary lens, further additional objectives are available, allowing you to vary and adapt the magnification range, working distance, and depth of field even further to your requirements.
These magnifications are possible in the basic configuration:10x eyepieces: 10x - 40x10x eyepieces plus 2x auxiliary lens: 20x - 80x20x eyepieces: 20x - 80x20x eyepieces plus 2x auxiliary lens: 80x - 160x(further magnifications possible with optional additional objectives or eyepiece magnifications)The third tube is designed for connecting a camera. A switch deflects the image from the left objective to the camera tube. Various adapters and reduction optics are available for C-mount cameras and DSLR or system cameras, so practically all cameras with removable lenses can be connected.

This allows observations of objects to be easily documented and shared with others. The high frame rate of the MikroCam SF series enables the creation of videos with smooth image flow. The built-in Sony sensors offer good image quality, colour reproduction, and dynamics.
The included software supports, among others, the following languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Turkish.
The MikroCamLabII software offers a wide range of functions. Essential functions (e.g. exposure time and sensitivity) can be controlled automatically or manually.Very convenient are the functions for so-called focus stacking (for high depth of field) and the creation of a mosaic or panorama. These two functions can be performed with a previously recorded image series or directly from the live view. Creating depth-sharp images using live focus stacking (EDF) is possible within minutes with the MikroCamLabII software. While you focus on the microscope, the software gradually builds the finished, completely sharp result image without further input. This way, you get impressive, sharp image results in a very short time. The measurement function* included in the software helps you determine sizes or display a scale. You can measure distances, angles, or areas with just a few clicks. Extensive functions support you, e.g. measuring circles with area and radius or even complex polygons.
Measurements can be performed on the recorded image as well as in the live image. The MikroCamLabII software also has extensive algorithms for automated image evaluation, e.g. for particle counting or area evaluation.
The housing has a C-mount thread and can therefore be used on microscopes from various manufacturers. We are happy to advise you which MikroCam is optimally suitable for your microscope.
For use on devices with a 23.2 mm mount, an optional 0.5x reduction optic (Art. No. 5914015 (fixed), Art. No. 5914005 (variable)) is available. For special applications, e.g. with a C-mount lens, the camera can also be mounted on the integrated 1/4" tripod thread.
*For calibration of the measurement function, a suitable measuring tool is required, e.g.: Art. No. 5916710 or 5916720.

The BRESSER Space Explorer 150/750 Telescope with an EQ-3 Mount shows you the night sky in stunning detail. Go on a journey into distant worlds: Thanks to the combination of a large 150 mm aperture and a short 750 mm focal length, you can marvel at a vast array of celestial objects such as large nebula, open star clusters or the Andromeda galaxy. The powerful Newton reflector telescope is also great for observing our own solar system: with the 25-mm Plössl eyepiece, you can view the moon in 30x magnification. The premium parabolic primary mirror produces significantly sharper images and better contrasts than a comparable telescope with a simple spherical mirror. In addition, the telescope also has a large 55 mm secondary mirror that illuminates the field of view perfectly to create a bright image.
Portable design - with the 150/750 reflector telescope
Can't wait to get out of the house to view the Orion Nebula or the Pleiades? With this telescope, you can search for the perfect observation spot: thanks to the short focal length, the tube is short and easy to transport. In addition, the premium equatorial mount allows even beginners to set up the telescope in no time. Tracking is also very simple - you can compensate for the earth's movements manually so that your observed objects stay within the field of view. To ensure maximum viewing comfort, the focuser on this Newton reflector telescope is attached to the side of the tube. The aluminium tripod is height-adjustable and features an accessory tray so that you can keep all your important gear within reach. The 6x30 finder scope with reticle allows you to align the telescope with objects in the night sky. The reticle indicates the position at which your telescope is pointing. If you want to capture images of your nighttime discoveries, you can connect your smartphone to the telescope via the smartphone camera adapter.
Discover the fascinating night sky with the BRESSER Space Explorer 150/750 Telescope!
