The outdoor temperature and humidity readings from the 5-in-1 outdoor sensor are supplemented by the integrated thermal/hygro sensor on the base station, which provides precise data on indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure. Practical features and useful weather data
Featuring an outdoor sensor, the weather station offers numerous features to keep you meteorologically informed throughout the day. For example, the graphic weather forecast will show you what kind of weather you can expect over the next 12 hours. Meanwhile, the perceived ('feels like') temperature factors in the impact of wind and humidity on the outdoor temperature, and helps you to choose the right clothes. In addition to the dew point, wind chill and heat index, the weather station also shows you the wind speed using the Beaufort index so that you always know how strong the wind is blowing.
However, it's not just the outdoor conditions that are important. The weather station also features a graphic indoor climate indicator, which uses a smiley to show you whether the indoor temperature and humidity are at an optimal level. If your struggle with mildew or dry air, you can set a maximum and minimum value alarm that informs you when the preset limits have been reached. This alarm can also be set for the other measured values. If you're a keen meteorologist or gardener and want to follow recent trends in weather, the weather station also features a historical bar chart for precipitation and air pressure, as well as a min/max value memory.
Radio-controlled clock with built-in alarm
In addition to extensive meteorological data, the weather station also features a radio-controlled clock that sets the time automatically. After it has been connected to the power supply, the base station automatically searches for the corresponding radio signal. A few minutes later, the time, date and day of the week will appear on the display, together with the current moon phase. It takes the heat index or windchill into consideration and provides a calculated result to give you a much better indication of how the current weather actually feels outside. It sure beats running in and out and having to change clothing. The Wind Gauge has been optimized and now measures in 360° and 16 directional points, giving you very precise wind readings. Furthermore, the radiation shield has been upgraded to enhance the temperature and humidity sensor circulation. Falling under the car when moving, taking a knock from a child's football, simply slipping from your hand during installation - even the most robust 7-in-1 wireless sensor is not immune to everyday misadventure. But, even if your outdoor sensor is permanently damaged beyond repair, there's no need to buy a whole new weather station simply to keep an eye on the weather. Your base station can continue to function perfectly. This sensor is the perfect replacement part for your 4-day 4CAST WiFi weather centre. The device is operated in much the same way as you are used to: Start by inserting the batteries (not included). Then, fit the replacement sensor in your preferred location using the installation material supplied. Once everything has been tightened up, all you need to do is connect to your base station (not included). With a replacement sensor, this is not an automatic process; you will needed to press the WiFi/SENSOR button on the console. The console will then start to search for the signal from the sensor. Connected? Then you're done, and you can start enjoying up-to-date and local weather data from your sensor for outdoor temperature and humidity, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, UV level and light intensity.
