Product information "BRESSER Microscope Science MTL 201 50-800x with MikroCam MINI Full HD HDMI Microscope Camera and Full HD HDMI Display (13.3")"
The Microscope in Detail
The BRESSER Science MTL 201 is a specialised reflected light microscope that allows the observation of non-transparent surfaces at higher magnifications (50x-800x). Ideal applications for this very solidly manufactured instrument include metallography (e.g. polished sections of metals and alloys), mineralogy, precision mechanics, electronics, and the semiconductor industry; it is suitable for scientific research and teaching as well as industrial production (e.g. quality control). According to its purpose, the MTL 201 features a very large stage (250 mm x 230 mm), which can be moved roughly with a handle and finely with cross and longitudinal drives. For perfect focusing, coarse and fine focus (coaxial; approx. 70 µm/revolution) are available. The reflected light illumination is provided by a halogen bulb (20 W) with adjustable light intensity through the objective. A centring field diaphragm, a selection of filters (yellow, green, blue, matte), and a polariser/analyser combination are available to the observer. The five-position turret is equipped with planachromatic DIN objectives (5x, 10x, 20x, 40x, 80x). The trinocular microscope head carries the eyepiece tubes inclined at 30° and the photo tube. The widefield eyepieces (WF10x) are adjustable for eye distance and dioptre difference. The photo tube allows digital image capture, e.g. via an optionally available PC eyepiece. Additional optional accessories: eyepiece (WF16x), measuring eyepiece (WF10x), planachromatic objective (50x).
The BRESSER Science MTL 201 is a specialised reflected light microscope that enables surface examinations of metals or plastics. It is therefore excellently suited for quality testing or tissue examination.

The Microscope Camera in Detail
The MikroCam MINI Full HD HDMI is a particularly compact HDMI camera. A PC or laptop is not required to operate the camera; you can simply connect the MikroCam MINI Full HD HDMI to an existing monitor, TV, projector or smartboard. This makes it ideal for use in teaching. Alternatively, a small BRESSER monitor can be mounted directly on the camera (see item no. 5914120).
The HDMI connection is easy to make and the camera is ready for use immediately. No software installation, PC setup, etc. is necessary. Thanks to the lossless data transmission, very good image quality is achieved and the image is always displayed with a consistently high frame rate of 60 fps and without delay. This is particularly advantageous when a microscope workstation is to be digitised, e.g. in quality control or production.
The supplied USB mouse is connected for control. This allows the three menus (camera settings, measurement* and display) to be controlled.
*To perform measurements with the camera, a calibration slide is required (e.g. item no.: 5916710 or 5916720).
The camera is also very suitable for presentations, as it operates in automatic mode when the mouse is not connected. The menus and mouse pointer are then not visible.
Please note that a direct PC connection is not possible. An HDMI to USB video capture device is required for this. The USB port is only for controlling the camera with the mouse.
MICROSCOPE CAMERA FEATURES
- HDMI connection for direct connection to a monitor, TV, projector or smartboard
- C-mount thread for easy adaptability to various microscopes (manufacturer-independent)
- Compatible with USB sticks or SD card readers (max. storage size: 512 GB)
- No PC/laptop necessary
- MikroCam MINI Full HD HDMI with C-mount connection
- Power supply (12 V / 2A)
- USB mouse
- HDMI cable (approx. 1.5 m)
The Display in Detail
The Full HD display is the ideal complement to the BRESSER MikroCam Pro HDMI and MINI HDMI
The display can be mounted directly on the camera with an adjustable holder. The screen delivers brilliant images without artefacts, as the display has the same resolution as the camera's output image. With the set of MikroCam and HDMI display, almost any trinocular microscope with camera connection can be upgraded to a digital microscope. This allows observation independently of a PC.
The size of the display is optimally chosen so that the microscope user can microscope as usual and simultaneously view the image on the monitor. The display delivers optimal image quality with a wide viewing angle of 178°! This allows several people to view the image without loss of quality.
The image from the microscope camera is displayed on the HDMI screen always without delay and with a high refresh rate of 60 FPS. Displaying via HDMI microscope camera on an HDMI monitor is therefore usually of better quality than using a USB camera on a laptop or PC. This is particularly advantageous when work under microscopic control is to be carried out.
Many users also benefit from improved ergonomics when the image can be viewed on the HDMI display. Especially higher magnifications with their high numerical aperture are unpleasant for eye problems such as floaters (vitreous opacities). Digital viewing can provide relief here.
The display can be powered with the included Y-cable using the same power supply as the camera. A suitable short, angled HDMI cable is also included to avoid cable clutter at the workstation. The mounting on a MikroCam PRO or MINI is done using two screws. Screws and tools are included.
